Xcessible Leisure Centres- a CARA Adapted Physical Activity inspired initiative.

Celebrating international Disability Awareness Week 2011: features a day of activity for all abilities: Wednesday Dec 7th in University Arena, University of Limerick.

The University Arena hosts an Open Day for Limerick aimed at welcoming anyone with a disability to try out their state-of-the-art facilities and activities.  The variety of activity taking place throughout the day will allow both groups and individuals to sample activity with supervision. 

Sports on offer include Badminton, Boccia and Sitting Volleyball.  Individual Gym Orientation will be available for top quality accessible equipment- including MotoMed cardio cycle and 2 adjustable-seat weights machines.  University Arena staff recently took the CARA Disability Inclusion Training in conjunction with Limerick City & County Local Sports Partnerships.  Accessibility is a key part of activity and sport at the Arena- why not try it out?  

All activity is free on Wednesday Dec 7th Open Day, coordinated by Sports Inclusion Disability Officer.
